    From the Inq:
Can it be as farcical as the X800XT PE? Also, looks like ATI are gearing themselves up for a long line of Xxxx cards, ie soon to come X900 and X950?

Yeah, saw it over at Rage3D Forums. It seems ATi are trying to pull 1 better than nVIDIA's 6800 series, will they succeed, let's ask bigz :thumb: One thing that could be a problem is the cooler size, they seem to be getting to the point where they're too big for my liking. For Shuttle users this card is going be a no no, back to the drawing board?

They should use a Blue PCB and a Silver HSF. That would pwn. I would trade my radeon for it in a heartbeat then.

The Inquirer also apparently had some info that ATI claim the X850XT PE will be 20% faster than a 6800 Ultra in 3DMark05 and nearly 40% faster in FarCry. While around 55% faster in UT2004.

    Some slight exaggeration maybe?

Well the x800's are already ahead of the 6800's in 3Dm05 I think. Hard to say on the other stuff, I've heard mixed results.

They would have been *much* better off having the pro's clocked lower with 16 pipes - 6800gt style. Although having the b0rked cores on the pro's should help availability, which is obviously one of their goals for this round. It just opens them up to another BIOS flash deal to get the other four and saving yourself some cash.

Any word about PS3.0? Or some sort of SLI which I heard ATI is working on? I'm guessing x900 for the latter but the former is where the 6800's have a big thing going for them with farcry 1.3 and whatnot.

Leeum - about shuttles... as this is PCIE, maybe shuttle will move the PCIE slot to the inside so it'll fit :p We'll have to wait and see of course, but there's hope.

At least they're dual DVI, finally. If you're going to spend that much you're entitled to it.
