Im a massive football fan and im still in shock at the news of Gary Speeds death. I grew up watching him play for leeds and newcastle and its still not sunk in. He was only 42!! whats going on this year why have so many sportsman are passing away. RIP Gary Speed!!
I saw that too. Not been around for long enough to remember him play, but he was doing a sterling job with the wales squad. RIP Gary.

He apparently hung himself Sad news, never saw him play, and not a follower of Wales in sports. But it's still sad nonetheless.
Desperately sad news, I was told in work yesterday but it didn't really hit me until MotD2 last night Another man who seemingly had it all presumably succumbing to depression, hopefully some of the stigma around it within sport (especially football) will be broken if that turns out to be the case.
Ryan Giggs was quoted as saying his thoughts are with Gary Speed's wife at this time. For ****'s sake Giggsy, he's only been dead a few hours! Too soon? But in all seriousness RIP Gary Speed, a true legend.
