Graphics Another what GPU upgrade question.

    A friend has asked me about a GPU upgrade his current specs are.
    Mobo: Asus M4A77TD Pro
    GPU: HD 5570
    CPU: AMD athlon ll x 2 250
    RAM: Corsair 1x4Gb PC3 1333mhz
    OS: Windows 7
    Still awaiting PSU specs.

    Anyway has about £75 to spend.

    Suggestions greatly wanted.

    Can he stretch to £85? GTX 460 768mb rules at that price.

    Failing that, This is your best bet. The 460 is a good bump in performance though.

    You could get a full 1gb 460 GTX second hand for that price, might be worth considering.

    Agree with Teppic, at this price new cards will not be that great.

    My advcie would be to see roughly what sort of money he'll get for his current GPU on ebay (presuming its still working fine you'll get something, even if its just £15-25), then buy something second hand for around £90. Checking ebay at the moment, one company is selling a brand new (unboxed) 5830, which will be a massive jump in performance.
