    Greetings,

I have a fairly aging Core 2 Duo set-up which is too hot for my liking as I eventually wish to upgrade to a more advanced architecture. My rough specification is as follows.

Intel Core 2 Duo E4300 at stock. (Scythe Infinity CPU cooler)
    2GB Corsair memory
    Asus P5ke wi-fi
    8800gts 320GB
    500GB Samsung HDD
    Corsair HX620

As you can see my machine is oldish but still relevant as it runs most games/apps well. Unfortunatley my temps are high. I just ran SpeedFan and my system is at 50c and CPU 52c (Cores are at 59c). This does not bode well for any future expansion. I wish to keep my case and power supply as I think they are a good base to build on.

Is it worth buying better fans? If I switch the tricools to medium or high speed they are too loud!

    Anyone experienced with this chassis?

    Cheers

    Eddie

you won't see more than 2c difference in temperature even if you've changed to the best case fan.

perhaps improve on the airflow. things like strap a fan onto the middle drive cage helps a lot.

your case and PSU are definitely keepers. they are the best ;)

    Thanks for the reply.

I thought as much myself. Think I will soldier on then.
