I wasn't sure where to post this so I hope its ok to post it here. My dad gave me these two fly fishing rods and a reel that he got from his uncle. They are quite old, and after looking around on the internet I thought they could be worth something. I wasnt able to find much about them on the internet, just found some similar items, so I was wondering if anyone here knew anything about them and could help me out. First is a Bristol Fly Fishing Reel Bristol No. 65 The Horton MFG Co. Bristol Conn USA Second is a fly fishing pole with a carrying case: No. 1380B Model FAD The second fly fishing pole is made of split bamboo and comes with 2 tips and a carrying case: Writing on the pole looks like Silverirri Arjon # 26-91 Made in Sweden Anyone know anything about these or know what they might be worth? Thanks for any help.
Your best bet is to take them to a reputable auctioneer/collector who might have past experience or know someone who knows.
yeah this is kinda a tech forum, those things look seriously pre-technology (should such a thing exist) they are very nice items btw!! Best of luck with 'em
keep a search going on ebay. thats what i do. its a good idea to hit up a local library and grab a couple of books too. have the library borrow them from another if they dont have anything of the sort.
Ive taken up fly fishing over the last couple of years but dont recognise any of these manufacturers. However some of the people who helped me out when starting off may have a good idea what they are. All have an ask and get back to you.
