Howdy citizens of bit-tech forums! Altex Computers & Electronics is also participating in the EK-Vulture Mod-Off being held by EK Water Blocks. Since our mod has finally gotten a bit of momentum going, I thought it'd be awesome to get your thoughts and opinions on our build. An EK-Vulture Build Sponsored by Altex Computers & EK Water Blocks. Intel for providing the i7-4790K and 730 SSD's Hassan at V1 Tech Blake at HexagonPC ASUS for providing the Maximus Impact VII and Strix GTX 980 video card. EK Water Blocks for giving us the opportunity and providing the components for the custom loop. With the intro out of the way, here's a crash course on our build, ANVIL. The case! The hardware! Let's start modding... Removing the powder coat Time for some paint... The custom loop arrives! A little bit of acrylic Water blocks installed Now about that RAM... And that's where we're at so far! We still have a ways to go for the build, but there's still nearly a month left of the mod off.
Looking good! Got to say the case does indeed look good, almost tempted to say better without the coating.
Really rough tubing runs and testing to make sure all the components work. LED's have been added to the case. We'll be re-doing the tubing as well as actually doing some proper cable management soon.
Loop dismantled so we can make cleaner runs/bends for our acrylic tubing. Good news is that everything works! We painted our Cooler Master V1000 fully-modular power supply. It's definitely overkill for this build, but we already painted it to match the build and voided our warranty/return.
Hassan over at V1 Tech connected us with Blake at HexagonPC for our custom cables. Here's an in-progress pic of the cables being made! Thank you so much guys!
Mega update! We re-did the runs and got our custom cables in. All that was left to do was to build. This mod has been so awesome to see come together. I want to say thank you to all the sponsors and everybody who's had a part in this project, it's been an awesome team effort and I look forward to the next project! So here we go! Custom cables by HexagonPC Tidied up quite a bit more. Our graphic designer approves.
