Cooling any Decent waterblocks that mount on cpu socket lugs??

    hey,

    i really wanna get a ga7vaxp mobo (great buy!) but it doesnt have the normal mounting holes around the CPU socket like a normal mobo so what i was wanting to know is - are there any good cpu water blocks that mount on the socket lugs like most HSF's??

    Yeah, the Swiftech MCW5000, it's a great block and easy to fit. It just goes over the 3 lugs then you release the pressure by unscrewing the mounting screw's. The screws are spring loaded so as you unscrew them the Clips tighten over the lugs. The advantage of this method is 1. Don't need the mounting holes in the mobo. 2. You can't over tighten the block on the CPU, the pressure is determined by the spring.

    Great shop Pclincs, good setup and the forums are pretty good as well. Look out for kms on the forums, he's involved with the shop and is a top bloke if you need any help or advice:)

    You can get hold of a DangerDen Maze 3 and then a Socket Hold Down device
