I have a HP Photosmart 3310 All-in-One which is an excellent printer for printing photos however recently we had a paper jam and the paper was removed but we had a problem with the tray not fulling inserting and too much force was used and it ended up breaking one part, turned out there was still a bit of paper stuck inside. The part in question is the little black thing that moves on a hinge at the back of the printer which guides the paper from the tray to the print area. I don't know what it's called but it's about 2cm width x 4cm length perhaps. I have tried moving one of the other black things to fill in the broken one however it turned out that the rightmost one (if you are looking at the printer from the front) is different from the rest but it's required as now paper has a tendancy to twist during print and now a lot of prints are not aligned with the edge of the page. Anyone know where I can get this little bit of plastic part, don't want to throw away an otherwise working printer!
If it's a component on the tray that's broken you can get another used tray on ebay... http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/HP-Photos...ssories_ET&hash=item3a6346bf41#ht_1163wt_1396 Make an offer to save some pounds!
Thanks for looking but the part isn't actually from the tray itself, it's attached to "something else"! May have to buy an entire broken printer to get that little bit May take a look at the local computer dump though.
Try using the broken part, perhaps by 'modding' it to fit? (keeping the bit that is attached on the printer) My experience from HP's printers includes too many paper jams and broken bits. I did myself a favour and switched to Canon..
We have a Canon A3 printer too but it drinks ink like no tomorrow! We only use it for A3 photography. As for the broken part, here's the thing. It's been thrown out...!
Hmm, in that case modding the old part may be a very difficult task indeed.. ps - sounds like we have the same Canon printer!
don't worry, the Canon i6500 A3 printer that I have drinks ink like a redneck drinks moonshine :/ have you tried contacting HP for a general idea of cost?
