is anyone a sky tv engineer, i have seen a job advertized with full training is there any perks to the job ie, do ya get free sky tv??? Is anyone here an engineer sky or cable? you can earn 13-17 thousand per year!!!
I'm not an engineer but I have worked for Sky/Sky In-Home-Service for the past 12 years. If you work for Sky In-Home-Service and not one of Sky's subcontractors then yeah you will qualify for free Sky TV (Sky+). You often get a few other perks now and again. As for pay…you could earn anything between 13-17k. It works on a bonus scheme, depending on how much work you do i.e. you do not get a lot of job cancellations. Call the Dunfermline office on 01383 815313 to find out more details...GL EDIT: Just noticed you are in NI. SHS do not have any of thier own installers over there but have 2 subcontractors Finlay Communications and Sierra.
i used to work for NTL and its a cracking job, if you like meeting people and getting out the house that is. those lot over at sky have got it easy all you need to do is mount the dish then tune the TV in and thats it, theres no cable pulling down the street etc with it. be careful about the amount of money they offer you though, as with NTL they used to say you were able to get 17k easy, but in all honesty it was a bit too high as you needed to be doing over 12 jobs a day which just isnt possible day in day out. but i was coming out with about 15k so it wasnt that bad. just out of curiosity though, im also looking for a new job so i wouldnt mind getting in touch with the company that youve applied to to see if they need anyone in my area. any chance you could PM me the details? ill give it a few weeks though to let you get your foot in the door first
Just to correct Lithium, our contractor for Northern Ireland is Finlay Communications, Sierra only cover ROI. By the way I'm sitting 2 desks away from Lithium right now. @chemo Ring the number Lithium posted to see if there is any work in the Notts area.
Aye but considering my Fiancé is only 3 desks away from me Doesn't means I cannie ogle the pretty girls as they walk past my desk from the dept next door though

Yes he did phone, we deal with them several times a day as we work in Field Operations Planning. Not sure about Finlays but our in house installers work on a 5 or 6 day rota, which can include working both Saturdays and Sundays, mind you Finlays tend not to work so much on the Sunday.
