Modding Any tips for engraving acrylic.

    For the window on my upcoming project, I want to engrave something on my window, I finally found what I want

    the born to frag text at the to of the pic. So im just asking is there any tips for engraving useing a dremel and one of those burr tip things.

    i have tried that... just look art project blue eagle (in my sig.)... the trick is to find a engaving bit for dremel... about 2 mm shoild be fine... to small and it will go too deep.. to big and it will have too much friction, making the bit run along the acrylic...

    hold the dremel and the workpiece TIGHT! start away from you and move the dremelbit against you... (if holding in right hand)... that way you wil load the dremel agains it's rotation direction, making it more controllable...

    also: be quick... or else the acryllic will melt to a lump around the bit.... don't use a drillpress for the dremel... wil only make it melt.. use freehand...

    what I use when I engrave is me dremel with an carving bit (it has a small round tip aprox 1/16) and the router attachment so you can controll the depth then I either draw it on with a marker or place a piece of paper onder so I can follow the design
