The Aspire K1 starter kit is much better than the kanger EVOD kit. You'll get a decent battery along with a decent glass clearomizer that uses BVC coils so you get great flavor and vapor production. EVODs are OK but you'll end up wanting better clearomizers eventually as the kanger ones aren't brilliant. And personally I find Aspire coils to be way, way better than anything Kanger make.

A little more expensive but well worth the extra in my opinion http://sweet-vapes.com/aspire-starter-kit.html

I have the 1600mAh Aspire CF G-Power battery with an Aspire Nautilus Mini BVC and it is so so much better than my old EVOD kit.

Personally using a Vision spinner 2 battery mated to an Aspire ET-S BDC with go liquids RY4, its the daddy, my mate who bought the super whooper vamo stuff doesn't use the vamo any more he uses the same set-up as me now. Plus the ry4 is well cheap with an nhs discount code.

i like the look of those square kits but they frighten me i reckon i would get lung ache!

I'm still searching for a clearomiser that gives me great flavour, great vapour and doesn't complain/wuss out with high VG juices. I've been spoiled by RDAs, I can't even go back to rebuildable tanks now. I'm really tempted by the NatureVape clearomisers, but I don't think it can hold a candle to a good RDA.

Did you order this in the UK? I like the look of the iStick, but I couldn't find anywhere that has it in stock at a reasonable price.

I'm a NatureVape user and I've got some 80% VG juice winging its way to me so I'll report back on how it copes.

I don't know what mix the Envy Amber Twist juice is (50/50 I expect) but it's great blend of vapour, flavour and throat hit.

    Cheers.

In other news, I just mixed up another batch of juice and decided to push the boat out a bit: honey, lemon and cake batter. I suspect this'll need a bit of steeping time, but I'm fast running out so it might not have chance to steep! :)

Naturevapes are probably the best you can get in clearomisers. They are just rebuilt coils with organic cotton but they do produce a lot more flavour and vapour for me and I can't go back to standard kanger coils. Haven't tried the tanks they make though.

Family portrait of stuff that arrived this week.

    Obviously I cooked a bit.

Need to fight the temptation of having a go with orange creamsicle. It smells so good. Should have gone for "better" DIY flavors from day zero, Inawera's stuff is usually good but some is off like licorice thats more of a herbal or some sort of spice. This latest batch is spot on but some need to steep as they have a perfume-ish smell. I'll know in a week or so.

This is the thing. Kanger clearo heads were my introduction to coil building; I learned to build coils by making microcoils in Kanger T3 and T3S tanks, and I can build the equivalent of a naturevape coil with Protank 2 heads in my sleep. I'm not sure I'd be getting much more other than the convenience of someone else making the coil for me :).

On the subject of coil building, Rip Trippers has just posted an excellent beginner coil building video:

Just revisiting this, I tried my NV with Digby's 80% VG "Mum's Custard" juice, and it just about copes with it. Clouds of vapour as expected, and low on flavour compared to a higher PG mix, but I wouldn't want to go in for several long, high voltage draws in a row since I think the wick would need time to catch up.

I'd say that 70% VG would probably be as high as you'd want to go in a clearomiser, with a 50/50 mix being the ultimate mix of vapour, hit and taste.

The biggest problem I have with high VG juice in general is the poor flavour, however fun it is being surrounded in a thick fog.

I'm guessing VG is Vegetable Glycerin and PG is Propylene Glycol?

To be honest, some of the flavours I use in high VG mixes are still pretty damn awesome. I've used Red Astaire in 80% VG mixes and it still tastes just as awesome. I find the biggest issue is the fact that I get used to the same flavour easily; need to mix up my flavours quite often to stave this off.

Some of the stronger flavours like Red Astaire and Hooligan lend themselves better to VG mixes than the less "exotic" concentrates, definitely.

24 hours on I've changed my opinion slightly - the NatureVape is coping perfectly well with the 80% VG, I've found keeping it warmer reduces the viscosity somewhat and allows the air bubbles to exit into the cylinder more freely, which keeps the juice flowing. A success.

I' m waiting on a delivery of an Orchid v3 after getting annoyed with both BVD and BDC coils for the Nautilus Mini (they are so temperamental) so looking forward to getting my hands on my first RBA. If I enjoy it all I'll look into getting another with time as I did have my eye on a Kayfun Lite.

Has anyone tried Crystal Menth from Kraken? I'm after a pretty strong menthol as I'm getting bored of mine but don't want a sweet minty taste (after trying quite a few flavours, I find lots are too sweet for an all day vape).

Yes I have, and it's VERY strong. It's also a little minty, but not overpoweringly so.

Little tip though: don't vape it on a 0.6ohm dual coil at 50 watts, your lungs will not forgive you. That was the first - and last - time I tried my mate's iPV 2 on full power...
