I only mix my own juices now, partly due to cost and partly due to a VG heavy preference. All of my mixes I'd be quite happy to have spent money on, but they are all my own recipes - albeit a few of them are takes on better known liquids.

Currently enjoying a strawberry cheesecake, a Looper-style cereal, my take on Gambit, a lemon/lime mix, a fruit punch and my next odyssey will be into custards. The extra long steeping times are the only thing that's stopped me so far.

Currently vaping a 0.1 ohm dual coil in my Tugboat RDA, atop a Rai Vapes Launcher V2 with a genuine VCT5 inside ;)

EDIT: In other news, got one of the Subtank RBA Plus decks in the post this morning, crosspost from latest purchases:

I can highly recommend it, it finally allows 100% VG vaping at high power in the Subtank Mini :D

I know a lot of folks did this mod themselves, but it's nice to see Kanger keeping their R&D department busy. Only drawback I can see so far is that unlike the bottom-fed original, this one won't vacuum up that last half millilitre or so of juice. I'd have preferred to retain the bottom wicking channels as well.

I've been on Snake oil for a couple of days while I waited for more mixing gear and I'm starting to get pretty tired of it. It's so sickly sweet and leaves such a taste in my mouth. Definitely one for occasional use only, not an ADV.

Those holes are gigantic. But I go pretty heavy on VG - usually 70% - and I don't usually have a problem with wicking on the subtank mini rebuildable deck. But then I don't usually go above 30 watts or so.

Tend to run a few of the T Juice flavours.
Red Astair (cough sweet aniseed), Vamp Vape (caramel), and Quintessence (brandy, grapes, and herbs). Yum. :)

Had a go at making my own custard.
10% vanilla custard, 5% butter, 2.5% caramel, 2.5% french vanilla.

Even just after 3 days steeping it's smelling & tasting good so should be awesome after a month of steeping if I can hold myself back from it. :D

I really need to find some time to get my head around making stuff. Does it always have to steep for a month?

Depends on the flavourings, some are good to vape the instant they are mixed.
The custard one I just made is good to vape straight away but really improves at around a month.

Custard takes a while to develop, it tends to darken quite a bit as it matures, so a good rich colour is indicative of improved flavour.

Stuff like Red Astaire concentrate is a shake 'n' vape. Steeping does nothing to improve the flavour.

Most juices take 3-7 days in my experience, the greater the number of flavourings used the longer it will take.

Need to discipline my usage starting with a 3 minute sand timer I'll flip every half hour for vape time, my room gets really cloudy with near constant vaping.

    Syringes, 2ml up to 10 or 15ml
    Wide gauge needles for above
Bottles, 5 & 10ml for carrying, 30ml or bigger for your nic mix.
    High strength nic
0mg base, VG or pg as preferred
    Pipettes 3ml
    Recipe calculator.
    Flavours

That's all I use, if you're new to it you might want some latex gloves too.

Edit, ir just http://www.thealchemistscupboard.co.uk/product/gold diy mixing kit and then just add bits as you go along.

Cool. In other news; 2 kayfun lite plus atties for about a year and no leaks. 1 subtank mini on the supplied 1.2 ohm coil for 1 week = 2 leaking episodes. May have to buy another kfl if the subtank leaks for me when I build on the deck.... Just like the T7 that hasn't been used since it leaked everywhere. Not loving the cotton...

    Here's what I use:

    • Syringes - various sizes, from 5ml to 15ml
    • Blunt needles - preferably with quite a wide diameter for VG, say... 14 gauge?
    • PG
    • VG - I get mine from Boots for £1.39 for 200ml (just make sure you get pure glycerin, none of the stuff with flavourings)
    • Nicotine base - I usually use 72mg/ml VG nicotine base, lasts me ages
    • Flavour concentrates
    • Gloves - Can't stress these enough, the nicotine base is pretty damn concentrated
    • POTV Calculator app on Android - Don't know if there's an iOS version

mrlongbeard's link up there covers pretty much everything - that's what I started off with.

The only other thing I'd suggest is some 100/200ml bottles so you can make large batches once you've found a flavour/flavour combination you like. Personally I re-use the VG bottles I get from boots since they're 200ml glass bottles - tbh I'd probably pay a lot more than £1.39 per bottle if I wanted to order empty 200ml glass bottles from somewhere.

Be careful with butter flavourings. A lot of them aren't safe for vaping as they cause "popcorn lung"

Recently joined the temperature control revolution (a little bit later than initially planned) but I'm a convert. No dry hits, ever... So good is the vape, especially in a dripper, I can't put it down!
