Ah nice. Might try that Red Astare concentrate. I have a couple premium Red Astaires in the box and one on the desk at work , also a Black Astaire which is ... meh ok. I have some premium Hiesenberg in the premium box still from Mortons Mystical Mix. Its pretty on point but i do fancy having a go at making my own!

This is my point .. i must have a good 2 litres of premium juice still to smoke ... or get rid of. Learning to start making my own has been quite fun so far.

Coming up to 5 years off the cigs, El Toro Cigarillos NET juice has been my go to. Tried others, they never take with me.

Bit pricey but cheaper than the baccy was.

Has any one re-skinned a battery before? it's easy, right?

Basically my beloved Tesla Invader III is a bit naughty, and if you are not careful it damages the battery wrapping. So I have ordered some new ones (very cheap) was just a little concerned over what is underneath and possibly shorting something and causing RAWR.

They are new. That's the kicker. And they are Fogstar and weren't cheap.

As someone that has blown a battery deliberately in a fairly controlled environment and nearly blown one alongside my hand and face accidentally, just buy new ones. I promise you it’s a hell of an lot scarier in person than any video you’ve seen.

It's a 20 second job per cell. Just look on YouTube. I've done it dozens of times without issue.

As long as the cell casing isn't damaged and there's no foreign bits of metal present that could potentially cause a short, then wrap 'em in gaffer tape for all it matters.

The battery chemistry is highly dangerous, but as long as the cells themselves aren't damaged then I can't see any potential problems in just changing the thin outer plastic casing.

When I looked in the Fogstar box earlier and it actually includes two new wraps. So yeah will give him a go :)

Couldn't disagree more. In fact, rewrapping your cells at the first sign of wear to the outer skin is highly recommended by battery specialists.

Really. I was always under the impression they advised against it due to the risks of someone blowing themselves up.

No, not at all. Your cells could be a matter of days old when you damage the plastic wrap, so the cell chemistry is still perfectly healthy but the chance of shorting the terminals would be significant unless you re-wrap it. Once re-wrapped, you're as good as (if not better than) new, as the aftermarket wraps tend to be more durable and of a higher quality.

It's not hard, get the battery wraps and use a blow dryer. In vaping forums, it is very common to do, especially with mechanical mods because
    1. you are recommended to use an external charger so lots of wear
    2. they recommend re-wrap the slightest sign of damage

PS. remove all jewellery, especially rings

I don't wear any but thanks for the heads up man. I'm not in a ring/chain phase right now and rings only get in my way.

Good idea on the blower. I was going to use a heat gun with no temp control. LOL, that could have been fun :D I do have a hair dryer here though that my ex didn't want. She threw it out, but I paid £45 for it (Nicky Clarke very heavy and high end). So I kept it. I use it now to cure spray paint :)

NOT a heat gun, unless you want a prosthetic. Hair dryer on medium heat is fine. No more than a few seconds in the heat at a time. Couple of seconds in, couple out. Rinse and repeat until the battery is snug.

Make sure you don't lose the little washer on the + end of the cell when you unwrap it. You'll need to reuse them, unless your new skins come with replacements. Try not to over-wrap either end of the cell when you rewrap it. It can cause problems with the fatter terminals inside some mods.

I've seen a couple of photos of some massive blisters. It's really easy, just take your time and make sure the battery doesn't touch an metal and make a circuit. Unwrap and rewrap one before you start on the next.
Watch a few vids on youtube and go for it.

My fogstars came with some free pink wraps and reinforced O shaped bits you put under the wraps for the bottom. I would bet is is for mods that are hard on the batteries.

I've bought ten of these from China, just waiting on them to come in :)

The O shaped bits are for the top mate, the positive end - they stop anything getting between the positive button top and the negative casing. There shouldn't be anything on the negative end, apart from a small amount of wrap.

Brill, thanks. I wish companies wouldn't just assume you know everything and told you what they actually were and how to friggin' use 'em !
