Ohhh, a car related problem. ;O

Right, I have this AUX port in my car which when I put the cable in the sound is quiet or non-existent.
If I wiggle it about the sound comes back. It happens with multiple jacks/cables that I have so it isn't
the slightly differing size of the jacks (assuming out of about 10 there is slight variances in their sizes).
I thought I would just replace it with another one so went to some car breaker yards but have yet to
find a peugeot/citroen new enough that has(or had) this port in it to take out.

Is there anything I can do to this to make it work again?

Would rather like to have my iPhone through my car player. Only other option so far is Peugeot fitted
USB box which costs £200. F. THAT. I have still got to ring them and ask if they do this part, but I can
see them charging like £30 or something ridiculous.

Thanks in advance if anyones able to help. :)
    Apologies for rubbish pics.

There are various third party solutions for iDevices (dock or lightening connector) and others that have just a standard jack plug. Which are you after?

Also what year and model is your car?

That is a standard 3.5mm jack which most cd players/mp3 players have. Pretty much any device with aux input uses the same jack. Unsolder that one, go to Maplin and buy one and solder it onto the board. Couple of quid tops.

Yeah looks to be a very easy desolder/resolder job that one. Standard 3.5mm jack on a small PCB with a 3 pin header.

If your not into your soldering etc I'd be happy for you to pop the pcb bit in a envelope and I'll take a quick look for you as it won't be a long job.

Peugeot 3008 Exclusive, 2011. I have looked for third party choices but ones I would like to use seem
non-existent. I some site suggesting Connects2 or something which is meant to plug into the back of existing
radio with USB/AUX/SD in the box. But can't find the actual product or if it would work with my exact radio.
(It is meant to work in my car, but it had about a billion different radios across the few years it has been out.)
If you have any specific suggestions, i'm all ears. :)

    Neal, Dave..
It is a standard 3.5mm jack port, obviously something inside isn't connecting very well. But can't get
into the actual part the 3.5mm jack goes into. Only the little PCB bit and stuff.

Yeah, me and soldering - not gonna happen as don't have the equipment or skills :D
I'll PM you Dave, maybe you can work some magic. Cheers.

But you showed it to us in the first pic didn't you?

The part highlighted in red needs to be desoldered and replaced.

Edit: Whatever you do, don't pay that 200 quid lol. I will come to your house and physically beat you with that aux connector.:D

These are used in Citroens as well, might not be as dear as you think.

Yeah it is citroen/peugeot part. :] Been to breakers looking at citroen and Peugeots but no new enough
    cars with that part.

I'm not paying the £200 :p I'd just buy a whole new aftermarket radio instead.
