I know some. What do you want?

Remember "1337" and "overclock0xx0r" and "teh pwnage" weren't common phrases in roman times.

The problem with that is it wont conjugate for you. I suppose it will sound "latiny" though, it wont be actual Latin if you just stick the words one after another. That's pretty handy though for picking up on the meaning of a Latin sentace or something. /adds to favs

I did it for a few years at school, wasn't too bad at it, if you say what you need translating I can give it a go... [No promises though!]

This is gonna be another one of those threads where the starter asks for a favor, everyone offers to help... then the starter forgets about it and never calls the favor in...

Yes.... like a certain movie studio who's motto is "Ars Gratia Artis". The correct Latin translation should be "Ars Artis Gratia" but that didn't look right underneath the roaring lion so they changed the word order around. So now, people think that Ars Gratia Artis is the correct translation. Yay Hollywood :thumb:

OK then, can any of you guys translate this motto from English to Latin then:

    "Show me no sh*t" :naughty:

The * being an "i" of course...I do need the synntax to remain the same in Latin. Only problem is I think there is no Latin word for "sh*t".

And for those who thought I started this thread and then forgot about, yaa-boo to you....I actually got kicked out of my apartment 2 days ago :sigh: , so I've been relocating.

doubt there's a word for s***, and just using 'excreta' doesn't really give the right meaning.

I can't remember enough latin, but i expect someone here will.

Actually the romans, not being content with just one word for it, have quite a few.

"Spucatum" is one, "Stercosus" is another, "excrementum" is a milder one, "Cacare" is yet another... i'm sure there are loads more.

...and you all thought Latin was boring.

LOL! I can just imagine the crowd shouting "pwned!" "n00b" in latin at the gladiators with names like "l33t-max1mu5-pwner".

wierdly enough, that actually rings a bell.

someone must have a latin dictionary IRL, and it must have the verb to show...

heres some stuff i found looking therough my latin dictionary :thumb:

the first and last one are actually the same thing :wallbash:

    [edit]

u need the verb to show

    monstro, -ari, -avi, -atus

    so it would be

    monstri mihi [no sh*t]

    which could be non stercorum

so maybe monstri mihi non stercorum

( i had my latin final today :thumb: )

    [/edit]

Glad someone sat down a finally worked it out. Cheers mate!! :thumb:

What about using "cacare" instead of "stercorum? I was hoping for a Roman slang word or vulgar Roman term for sh*t. But "monstri mihi non stercorum" is pretty damn close.

Now I can incorperate this motto into my mod design!! Thanks to all that have helped me out on this odd translation. :thumb:
