I just finished modding my PC and I'm pretty proud of it. Unfortunately, my physical desk looks like crap. I'm wondering if any of you have any suggestions for nice desks to look at? I've been looking on amazon and they sell lots of junk for cheapo office people. I'd like a desk on which the PC can sit to my right at eye level so that I can see inside the fancy new window I installed and also without those lame monitor stands because any new monitor can be adjusted to be taller, but few can become shorter, if you know what I mean. I'm sure some of you must have cool looking desks that don't cost an arm and leg. Show it off and tell where you got it. Danke.
I am a big fan of the Ikea desk "Mikael" I got one and i gone get a second one soon. Ikea has really good office tables in general. Would be good to know where you from so people could give more country specific advise.
I'm from Illinois in the US, so we really don't have any Ikea stores anywhere within like a thousand miles. Isn't their stuff all really expensive though?

Hah, yeah, thats the problem I'm having. I'm willing to spend around 300 dollars, which I guess is like 8 pounds or something to everyone here. I'm kinda hoping people will take pictures of their work areas so I can see some stuff in action, it seems like Bit-tech has some of the most tech savvy people on earth and they would likely have some nice stuff.
Military Surplus. I got mine and its great, its about 4ft wide and 3ft deep and has legs well out of the way and its sturdy as hell.
the nearest Ikea store is about 5 hours away, one way. I'm apparently limited on which things are buyable online from them. I like how tidy you keep everything, yodasarmpit =) I'm trying to add that desk and the little cabinet thing that goes underneath to a cart on the Ikea website. But, apparently they hate Americans because half the stuff leads to page-not-found errors. I had to set it to think I'm from the UK just to be able to view all the items, but I can't order like that obviously. Yodas, are those things under your desk the same drawer units on their site, just without the lower two drawers installed? Edit: So apparently if you want to order off their site, they charge you $285.17 shipping and handling for a 60 dollar desk. I think that pretty much means Ikea is out. Any other ideas?
Get 3 big pieces of wood, get some "legs" if you're going to put some heavy stuf f on it and create it yourself I don't know what else you could do, since IKEA ís probably one of the best options (to bad they aren't into America so much)
I wish it were so simple, but I'm sure building a decent looking and working desk is more work than I want to get myself into. I've been trying, without success, to find anywhere else from which I might purchase this desk, such as eBay. I'd be willing to buy it used if I could get the freaking thing for less than a million dollars. I'm kinda soured on Ikea now after putting this much thought into this, only to find that they rip you off on shipping rates. Oh well.
Well, depends on your budget, if you've got some spare cash there's only once place you need to go for furniture.
