Not only that but it just kept on giving. So many times I thought it was about to finish when a fade to black occurred, which gives a good idea of how many great moments there were as you can't end an episode and season on something banal.

    The Finale was simply wonderful.

The music in there was such a treat and went along with the episode perfectly, not sure the last time i heard a music score fit so perfectly.

How the heck is Varys on the boat with Daenerys and also in Dorne with Olenna?

Yeah that was just plain silly!!!

    Anways what an episode! OMG!

    - Absolutely loved Cersei burning the sept and Tommen swan diving off the top board :D
    - The mormont kid was top notch
    - Little finger was a bit crap
    - Tower of Joy - finally! "promise me Ned, promise me"
    - Frey (Bentos) Pie!!!!!
    - Time traveling Arya anyone????
Edit: Yes special shout out for the score, it was exceptional. In fact the first 10 minutes was beautifully shot

It was a hell of a season finale!

I reckon Sansa will be end of Little Finger - He's tipped his hand to her and I think she'll play him like a fiddle.

The identity of Jon's mother has been telegraphed across the net for ages now - props to Ned Stark though, he lied to his wife for ~fifteen years(?) to protect his sister's son from his king.

Arya's revenge was sweeeeet, and Cersei's revenge was frikkin awesome.

Not at all - I'm guessing there was a pretty big time lapse between the Dorne scene and the final scene with Daenerys on the ship. There seem to be other jumps in time as well, because in the Dorne scene Lady Olenna already knows that Margaery is dead.

Also, when Jamie gets back to King's Landing (towards the end of the episode) the rubble is smouldering...alas, it is likely that several days had passed since the explosion happened.

Running theories are that it was a poorly explained time lapse between the scenes, it was a continuity mistake or it was a reveal that he has a twin brother, that's why he knows so much.

Yep, she's swinging the balance of power back towards her. She knows he won't hurt her now.

Jon's mother was pretty obvious but they haven't given away the fact his father was a
    Targarian
yet. I think/hope we'll see some historical episodes about what really tipped off Lyanna, Ned, etc and the battle with the Targs. But this won't happen until Bran gets dragged back to Winterfel to do his thing near the Wierwood there.

Me and the Mrs were like "how can the King accept what's happened, he needs to do something to show his power"

Jumping out a window wasn't what we expected but it works

The scene just reminded me of this:

The only power he had was power over his limbs. :D

Also, on the subject of continuity errors and Varys being in two places at once, it has emerged that several weeks must have elapsed before the final scene with Daenerys, because of the flags on the boats. Some people really do have sharp eyes!

    This! Exactly this!!

It would have been that funny if it weren't for the 15 minutes of butt clenching build-up beforehand.

The Varys scene could have been better explained, but then the whole last episode was difficult to place on a timeline.
As could have all the white doves/birds? leaving Old Town as Sam got there - that was the signal for the official start of Winter.

Sansa's motives next season will be interesting.

What is the air-speed velocity of an unladen raven?

I'm wondering if Sansa won't take over the north from Jon. Then it will be a proper "Clash of Queens", between Sansa, Cercei and Denaerys.

Or they can just put Lyanna Mormont on the iron throne and get it over with.

HBO has confirmed that season 7 will be delayed till summer 2017, and will only be 7 episodes. Not sure how I feel about that one.
