I'm trying to update our testing suite, which for the last 18 months has been converting 20 minutes of DVB-T EDTV footage into avi using Xvid. Instead I want to convert some (free) HD footage (mpeg preferably) into SD using the latest DivX. I've seen some "free" stuff but most of it is in quicktime or other - if anyone deals with this stuff or has about 10-15 minutes of HD mpeg footage I can have for internal testing (no "personal" video, please ) I'd be massively grateful I know h264 is the preferable choice but it's harder to script and automate into vdub.
Unlucky, not too long ago I deleted an MPEG-2 sample from Astra-2D at 20mb/sec. Looked sweet as hell.
I can offer some up. I have .m2t files (mpeg-2 transport stream) captured from my Canon HV20. They are recorded in 1080i. I can render some out into different formats if need be. Just let me know if you need specific parameters or file types. Also, as the rendered files can get pretty big, I'll need somewhere I can upload them. -monkey
If WMV's okay- http://www.microsoft.com/windows/windowsmedia/musicandvideo/hdvideo/contentshowcase.aspx Download enough of them to make a 15min video, edit them together and you've got a nice selection of testing samples with a range of content.
Cool! I might take you up on it, but I'm having a bitch of a time adapting the jobs files in vdub - I just don't know enough about it and writing batch files full stop
