Well, many of the things in that build are on Today Only at the weekends, dropping down to a 768mb 460 and if you stick around and make your post count up to 20 (useful) posts you get free delivery.

    Which brings it down to...

Yes it will hapilly deal with BC2.

And weekend today only generally always have most of the components in (Except last weekend which was the worst weekend T/O I've ever seen) but just check, most of that stuff will probably be in but obviously never guaranteed.

You also get a free mouse pad and a fan!

(I got 25 empty DVD cases last weekend, me thinks scan are trying to free up some space!)

whwats counted as usefull posts lol, take it this reply dose not.
Free mousepad and fan, always comes in handy.
Might see if i can pass a scan finance then i could push the boat out to 600ish and get more goodies.

Spoke to a mate and he reckons the 400 psu will not be powerfull enough, he reckons i need at least the 550, whats your oppinion on this mate.
    Thanks,

The 400W PSU will power that machine. Simple as.

I personally wouldn't want to overclock with it as that machine is at the upper limit of what the PSU will deal with but it will power it.

That said, if you've got the funds I'd suggest upping it to a higher W rated PSU. Check the reccomended PSU list for suggestions if you can afford it.

Useful posts, just basically not spam. So long as you're not blatently spamming the forums to hit 20 posts you'll be able to get the free delivery ( needs to be minimum £20 ex vat for future reference).

I would suggest a slightly higher output PSU. The GTX460 minimum is a 400w iirc (correct me if wrong).

Running the 400w PSU at a high utilisation will shorten it's lifespan and make it hotter, thus making it noisier. I would suggest 450w at an absolute minimum and would lean toward a 500w or higher if possible. The lower load the PSU is under, the quieter it will be and the longer it will last (as with most components).

    I would potentially suggest:

Be Quiet 530w Pure Power - £48.75 (not sure of the quality of this, maybe someone can comment)
Silverstone 500w Strider - £49.31 (not sure of how good this is)
    Corsair VX450w - £53.92
    Corsair TX650w - £59.91

If I had to choose one, I would go for the Corsair TX650w, it is only £6 more than the VX450w and would give a lot more headroom despite being a little more than actually needed. However, your budget may preclude it.

A good quality PSU is one of the most important components in your PC.

i might push the boat out slightly for the psu, i dont want to shorten the computers life.
Think i pretty much have it sorted now, Just got to wait for the right moment to buy it.

Good call, a high quality PSU will last you through multiple builds or upgrades. The Corsair's come with a 5 year warranty as well.

Avoid the be quiet! They're not a patch on what they were a year ago, I'd personally go for the Corsair :thumb:

From personal experience that Palit GTX 460 has a noisy fan. The retail versions (with the possible exception of the 'platinum version) of the Palit and Gainward lack a heatpipe heatsink. They simply have an aluminum block and a fan. Not even a heatsink on the VRM! If you want to protect your hearing look elsewhere!

I have a couple of Gigabyte GTX 460's which are much much better on the noise levels.
