Hey guys, just a quick question for anyone thats from birmingham. Im from leicester so i dont know the place too well but im going to be booking a hotel to stay over on the 16th with the missus and taking her go-karting (its a surprise! ) which is on fazely Street. (iv never been there but heres a link with the map: ) http://www.teamworkskarting.com/pdf/tkbmap(maxres).pdf Im looking at hotels to book and iv come across the "Thistle Hotel" in birmingham, iv got a discount code for it which gives us breakfast for quite a reasonable price but im not sure if this hotel is anywhere in the city centre. Is it near broad street at all? My question is if anyone knows how close to the bullring or fazeley street this hotel is? Thanks for your time! -Solidus
hi there the thistle hotel which i know of, on Hagley road is about 5 minutes or so on a bus away from the centre of town (the bull ring) and then a further perhaps 10 minutes walk to fazeley street have fun!
If you look on that map, the train station Moor Street, is literally right next to the Bullring. Well, round the back. You recognise it If not, aim for New street, thats right in the shopping centre.
according to the internet, the thistle hotel is off the nearest end of broad street to the bullring, and very very close to it, so you should be within easy walking distance of the karting place!!! RwD
Look on Google Maps. We have the technology. Thistle hotel is on Hagley Road (at its junction with Portland Road), which turns into Broad Street once it has passed under Five Ways roundabout. It is about 15 minutes walk from Broad Street, but there are good bus connections and a stop almost in front of the hotel. However there are some cheap hotels on Broad Street itself, such as a Jury Inn and a Travel lodge. If you can afford the big bucks, there is a Hyatt a bit further down, opposite the Symphony Hall.
