I got a program called "Poser6" not too long ago and i have to say it takes most of my time on the PC, it's very intresting.I've tried 3Ds max but i seem to lack patience at that sort of very complicated program. Anyways, i've checked for computer art in the forum and found nothing hope this is a good place to start the thread, and i know some of you are quite good so let's see your work I have a couple of pics already but i get them out at 1280 X 1024 and use them as wallpaper (some of them) as i was saying i got this not too long ago so forgive the little quirks This is one of a demon called Nybras with a special texture called nimbus. i gave him that look cause it reminds me of when i was little and i was so affraid something like this peeked out from the closet at night lol If you'd like to see my "rated" pics (some i cant host or show lol) they're here. Thanx http://community.webshots.com/myphotos?action=viewAllPhotos&albumID=540743342&security=QXUaEy
I do photoshop when I'm not codeing or gameing... If you want a nice art forum NexGFX is a good forum that my Girlfriend is a part of (and a mod of)...She is more of the computer art/gamer type where me coder/gamer/coder....So ya, anyways if you need a link www.nexgfx.com/ipb2/index.php try it out
tbh, I find Poser to be one of those "does exactly what it says on the tin" type apps...don't get me wrong, it's a good programme for basic (beginner) modeling/animation (just as Bryce is/was good for landscapes), but it's a bit too limiting. Keep it up though - you'll find that you will eventually move onto something more complicated (3DSMax/Maya/Lightwave etc) when you realise Poser doesn't do something you want it to.
Yeah you've said it perfectly, I started off with 3DSMax I used to play alot with unrealed (made some nice maps to ) so getting to grips with it wasnt as bad as what it could have been, since I had experiance with editing/manipulating shapes via there vertices. I never got to grips with lightwave though for some reason.
Hey, nice work with that thingy thingy! As for me, I have a little experience with 3ds max 6... >.> http://www.deviantart.com/view/29136178/ <.<
I hope you don't mind, but I thought that bomb was awsome, so I posted it on EOCF. With your getting credit Looks good
That's the bomb! Great work Edit: I love all your work! http://www.deviantart.com/deviation/29360411/ <-- is great!
Yeah well as you were saying gotta start somewhere Nice work with the bomb, eventually that's what i want to do eventually. Btw how long did it takes to be able to do good work? i have the dang program and the 3Ds6 bible but it's a bit discouraging just to get cracking on that brick there's so much stuff
Eh.... it just takes time. One thing I would recomend if you intend to work with 3ds Max at some point... Concentrate on learning the material types and whatnot. Those are what make the art vivid and atractive. EDIT: And thanks guys.
You know Maya 7 is a lot better for 3D modeling? I heard that it's more versitile, and has way more power in modeling. I have it, and I use it but I suck at it. I'm learning programing, so I don't really need to get stressed about another type of computer "artistic type", but just asking do you think that Maya 7 is more powerful than 3D Max Studio?
Eh, depends on what you wana do in 3d... I use 3ds Max because alot of the games I model for use it. >.> Like halo...
I mainly use Illustrator and Photoshop for graphics work Dunno if I can be bothered to post any pics, dont like any of my work anymore and havent made much new stuff for a while I would love to get into 3d stuff
I'm in the same position. I think Maya has the worst interface ever! If you want a simple, powerful and fairly cheap (for a professional 3d package) have a look into Cinema 4d, my mate is a pro and all he did was RTFM! I think there is a 30-day trial too
Maya only has the worst interface if you're not familiar with it. The beauty of Maya is that, when you really get to working in it... a) You'll find most of the things are very intuitive and have incredibly convenient shortcuts, and b) You can customise a lot of it to run how you want it to. I find that a lot of people complain about interface problems with Maya, Vue Infinite, and worldbuilder...but most people don't really take it to heart that these are not for beginners...that's what Truespace, Cinema4d, and Bryce are for. They're not made to be intuitive to LEARN on, they're made to be intuitive to WORK on. If you spend some time doing some tuts at simplymaya or a similar site, you'll find that it's very flexible and powerful. All this is getting me the itch to try and dive back into Vue and whip up some landscapes again...Ugh, the render time, though...even on my dual core system...
