if i had the model of the car that would have helped but you can select the car from this and get the insurance group here http://www.parkers.co.uk/owning/insurance_guide/engine.asp or www.parkers.co.uk under the owning tab then insurance then groups Later AW3K
cheers thats what i needed as im fining it hard to put the cars into the insurance groups so i kno how much they cost ps i thought you were comming down to bradford for the meetup
I was but work came first i'm also looking into insurance groups for corsa's and fiesta's. Nice cheap cars Later AW3K
my god thats a lot of figures /\ just seen the insurance on an old beemer ah well cheap old fiesta, body kit & get a setup in there, no need to drop the shocks with the audiophile quality setup i have planned as the sheer weight of the amps to run it willd o all that (every speaker having its own individual mono amp to provide a nice clean signal)
Go down to your local WHSmiths and get the car trade book can' t remeber waht its called but its about A5 in size and it will tell you what insurance it falls under.
If you log onto www.directline.com you can get a quote, change the car, get a quote etc, until you find an affordable one. Peugot 306's are very cheap to insure for some reason, not so cheap to run though.
I got a quote of £35k from budget on the internet for a frontera... needless to say I didn't take it.
Just remember that what group the car is is not the be-all and end-all of insurance pricing....... you have to shop around. A lot. I was getting insurance quotes for my mini, saying it was bog-standard (*ahem*) and the range of quotes was £1200. The cheapest wasn't even 1200, so that range is just stupid. Although admitedly it is a little more complicated for me as I can't have the car insured in one of my parents' names as my parents have a car each so I have to be the main driver. Nonetheless, the cheapest quote I got was £500, the most expensive 1700 ( ). Shop around.
my mothers 306 is pretty reasonable to run @ 60mpg but as its a 1.8 diesel turbo lump under the bonnet the insurance is sky high
na what i though was sa i want to keep my first car for a few years get somehting like a g reg bmw which are nto a huge amount (your talking less than fiesta money) as there diesigned tpo last & then after a few years when i have a good amount of no claims go & get something lie a octavia RS turbo (pulls in 18bhp stnadard but can easily be tuned to give you over 250, not bad for a scoda ( plus with a bigger car it is more mate friendsly as you can fit people in cos there is no way i can be called short so in anytihg like a 306 the seat is right back & i still have trouble fittin in ah well ford escort init o i could argue the back seat is useless as no-one could fit & use that space for amplifiers & speakers
