I'm entered in a competition with my college (http://proshare.innovation.gov.uk ). Basically we have £100,000 in imaginary money to invest, and the team who make the most money win £2000 for their college and a trip to a financial centre. The problem is we're supposed to research what to invest in, and I haven't got a clue where to start. Can anyone offer some advice to a share n00b?
www.fool.co.uk .. Always served me well, I still don't fully understand it but it's a very good starting point.
Yea, buy nVidia. Last time I checked, the price was on the floor. With NV30 and if nForce2 ever actually comes out, it's near gauranteed to go back up.
actually brads got a point look for a company with a low price for shares that is supposed to be releasing soem groundbeaking product or somehithng very wizzy & buy, then sell after the product has come out & there shares arte at there peaks
<insert sarcasm here> (sorry) Thanks for advice so far btw. I'm not sure if nVidia is possible though as it seems to be limited to the larger companies like Micro$oft for the international ones.
I was thinking AMD... if you have enough time to wait until the clawhammers come out... Current price is ~$3.80/share...
Yea. The best advice anyone can give is, invest in what you know. Of course anything relating to the big players in the tech industry is a prime target for us.
