My sons old phone finally died a death when he dropped it and the screen stopped functioning properly, it was only the rubber case he had on it that's was holding it all together. He was desperate to get all of his files off of it and move his google account so I ordered a new screen and fitted it today, fitting being a very loosely used term as its just sat on the frame but its working. He hates the phone and probably wont want me to restore it but in the process of getting it apart I damaged a component and then ripped it off (luckily leaving the tracks intact) while trying to straighten it. To cut a long story short, I presume this is some sort of tamper switch as there's quite a few around the board and the screen wouldn't display until I put the back cover back on. No idea, but what phone is it? we have dozens in the recyc box at work - maybe you can salvage the part if we have the same model
Hang a mo as I can hear him talking to his mate about taking it into the garden and shooting it with my air rifle so I might not be repairing it once he's done backing up, he hates it and Huawei that much.
