I know this doesn't answer your question, but I also want my question answered, can you name anywhere that I can get 70mm M3 bolts? I need them for my Thermaltake Smart fan on the Alpha Pal8045, because the fan only has holes on the top. Its hard to explain, but the fan shroud is only held on by blu tack at the moment :worried: I too tried at several hardware stores, and they only went up to 50mm :(

i don't know if this exists where you are, but near my home there is a specialty nut and bolt store... the only thing they sell are fasteners (??spelling)

How about threaded bar with nuts on?

Think they have it at B&Q too, IIRC.

Inox Fasteners are da man! You can internet-shop practially any conceivable size nut and bolt from them, in stainless steel, polished if required, in any number, for as little as 30p a piece.

I have used them; they are quick, reliable and do an excellent product. They are my mainstay for all my modding related fastener needs. And yes, they do M4 x 60mm hex bolts.

If you're in the UK, either ask at B&Q, or preferably at a local hardware store,
    or online, try Screwfix??

@ Dazbo666: Screwfix has an extremely limited choice. Inox Fasteners mentioned above really are the best for anything fastening related. They even do self-locking nuts (sounds painful, but they're actually really useful).

@ Couzo: the rubber grommets at the front of the picture are originally meant to protect wires that lead through holes in metal casings. As such you can neatly pop them in fan mounting holes. You get them at Maplins or any electronics store, in various sizes. The rubber rings at the back can be mail-ordered from PC Modifications or in the UK from Kustom PCs.

nexxo I rang inox and the guy was great but he told me they don't make m4 bolts at 60mm and when i told him about the website saying they were listed he said a different guy is incharge of that and they have had problems like this before so he is making some custom ones for me!!

That is great news! I have not actually talked to them on the phone before, but if they can custom make you some, perhaps they can do some M3x120 ones to allow me to mount fan, shroud and BIX radiator in one assembly!

    Hmmm... I see possibilities! :naughty:
