I replaced a razer copper head with a logitech g9x. Liked the razer, love the g9x. I like a heavy mouse so that is part of it but all the buttons are just better placed on the logitech and the general shape is just plain more comfortable...
You should have bought a CM Storm Spawn. Same awesome shape as the G9x for fingertip grips, and an awesome optical sensor for GPS games besides. And its £30 at Amazon new. Doesn't have a the buttons of the G9X though. and I've tried the Deathadder and G400 and while the shape is good, it doesn't suit fingertip grips as much as the Spawn/G9X
I hated the CM Spawn I had. Found it generally quite plasticky and the software is ridiculously in depth. My G9X arrived on Saturday, but I was out, picking it up tomorrow.
Hope you have a great time with the G9X! And tell me how it compares to the CM Spawn, you may just convince me to upgrade
what do you guys think to the Sharkoon Fireglider? Only £20 but looks really good to me. Looking at the G9X but at £52 it's a bit too pricey. Also what mouse mats do you guys recommend?
If you prefer control, a standard steelseries qck (whichever size you like) is IMO your best bet. If you want smoothest gliding and more speed, go for a hard mat - I was thinking of buying a Roccat Sota myself
I just got a G400 from Logitech as a warranty replacement for my MX518... it's an astoundingly good mouse, and afaik you can get one for £25. Well worth considering.
I got it from Amazon Warehouse, the stuff I've got from there in the past has all been 'as new' and you can't complain about the prices. Also picked up an Asus Vulcan headset for £60.
Another option to consider for raw DPI madness is the Cyborg R.A.T series, i'm considering getting one as an upgrade from my frankly ancient and battered X-748K, everything above the R.A.T 5 apparently supports 6400DPI, which is crazy, plus the 7 Contagion looks freaking Sexy!
I am currently using a R.A.T 3 and it is awesome. Increasing dpi even a little has made general usage faster and gaming even better. Turning that gun turret quicker and overall comfort is high!!
I find the personal issue is that the sensitivity is too high, so I can actually get the individual registers between the DPI points. Even at 3200; It annoys the hell out of me. I used to see it more when sniping back in the original MW. Watching my crosshairs flick to either side of my target's head whenever I moved the mouse, regardless of how short a distance, was goddamn annoying.
if you actually want to win in video games, use a lower sensitivity... just saying Mystifying, why some people turn up all their dpi settings to Max and then in the mw killcams you see their crosshairs jerking around! You lose accuracy and can't target every pixel. It feels cool though I'll give you that
That's why I use such brutally high DPI and such low in-game sensitivity. I've about nailed it now, although even 3200 is starting to feel a bit sluggish for my level of wristtwitch.
