Hi guys, im contemplating moving from orange, who have given me years of faithful service, to sky. Mainly because I can get 16Mbits for £10 where as atm im paying £15 for 8Mbits. Has anyone used the service and would you recommend it? Sorry if this is in the wrong section.

Aye, I moved to SkyBB last year from Plusnet. Didn't notice any downtime at all. I went for the 8Mb/£5 month for a start but will shortly move to their 16Mb llu service. Hasn't been a problem so far, their router performs admirably (a reskinned DG934G).

I'm on the 16MB LLU service too, there is the odd problem every now and then but we have a bad line.
There is also several problems with the router such as it overheating when 108mbps is enabled or it randomly rebooting when uPNP is enabled, I am however lead to believe they have recently changed their routers though and are working on a firmware update for the model I have (the reskinned netgear).

But generally there isn't much to complain about on the LLU service.

I've got the new Sagem router (looks like the newer sky boxes) which is fine - solid as a rock.

The only thing I would make you aware of is that they use interlacing - this will increase your overall speed, at the expense of latency.
If you do a lot of online gaming, and can't get on with it, then call them up and get them to remove it.

Loads better than pipex,With them I was paying £25 for 8Mb, and getting ~350Kbps. Now I'm paying £5 for the mid package, and getting about 1200Kbps.

Can't really fault them at all!

Been with sky BB for 6-7 months, can’t fault it at all. Certainly better than my telewest and tiscali experiences!

Been considering it. But I'll wait until they install their own kit in my exchange.
