Anyone wanna do a tech-podcast-thing this weekend? EDIT: Another podcast out!

Im wanting to have a bit of a laugh and give it a try over skype. Get a few people together to have a chat about recent tech, and the future, perhaps tech news this last week. Sometihng a bit more enthusiast than TWiT.

Or, if enough people wanna talk about something completely different we can do that.

I know how it can possibly be crap with noone having heard each other before, but it will be an interesting experience. Hopefully once we get about 4 or 5, with stuff people want to really talk about, not just be on for the sake of it, then we can get an agenda together and have a chat.

Atm it's myself, Da Dego (who I still havent confirmed with a time etc but was wanting to do it earlier in the week) and Hiren (who said he'd just be on for the sake of it ). Im not sure if you can have more than 5 on at once cause of this damn Intel-Skye thing = 10 connections but AMD = 5, but having 10 people on might be a bit nuts.

PS: If anyone's got any good guides and software to recording a skype convo for a podcast, or podcast making links: lemme know please!

Sounds like fun But heres a suggestion: why not use Ventrilo?

My clan uses it and we've never had a problem with it. Basically, we can get many people on there (most we've had was about 20), better sound quality (obviously depending upon how you set it up and your hardware) than skype, and easier to install.

I'd offer my server/voice, but unfortunately the international lag would be killer (we've typically seen ping in the range of 300-350 for international users, which means about a 4-5 second lag).

 

Would love to give you some European-accent talk in the podcast, will make you look real international .

And then if you would organise some modding video podcast where you would do some modding tutorials and interviews with modders who would also show their work.

It did, and the results are less than brilliant due to me and Rich fighting sleepyness at 1.30am on sunday morning and no one else apart from Brett turning up. I think Richard is editing it down currently not sure if he is planning to release it.

It's up on my site now. Im gonna have to get H to mirror it soon though cause it's 40meg. I suggest you read the associated post which explains it a bit. Next time we'll go for an intro/exit/proper discussion with structure now we know we can actually do it and what it sounds like.

Next one will be in a couple of weeks on a Sunday afternoon (BST).
