Really tempted by one of these, my benq 24" is getting a bit old now and the extra screen space would be nice, only trouble is I spend far less time at my PC now and the money could be better spent elsewhere,
I've gone and done it, just got to wait for it to arrive now, 2-4 weeks Probably going to have to upgrade my i3 to something more beefy to match my gtx980, more expense,
ITS MAHOOOOOSIVE!!!!!!!! Soo much screen space! Only trouble now is if I sit far enough away for it I can't reach my keyboard,
It is a cheap one, well it was free from a neighbour, , can't really get a bigger desk in the space though, .
You'll get used to it in no time. When I got my 32 it was weird, because I had to turn my head to see it all lol. Soon enough you will adopt a position that's perfect though wouldn't be without mine now.
I now have a 27" monitor sat around doing nothing, and yeah it does look puny compared to this monster. On another note, does anyone know if AOC do a 24" 1080p monitor with a similar panel? The ppi would be the same so would make a great second monitor on the side in portrait (am I going to far with this?). EDIT: Think I've found it already.
AOC are releasing an IPS version - http://hexus.net/tech/news/monitors/120209-aoc-launches-315-inch-qhd-ips-monitor-freesync/
Shameless thread-necro here. I just discovered the IPS version of this monitor and I'm curious how people have been faring with the MVA version in the past few months? I was going to start a new thread but there's no point really as this monitor is the cheapest large WQHD (2K) IPS screen on the market, and is even cheaper than most of the smaller screens with the same res. My 30" Dell will be going to the office in the near future so I need to replace it with something similar but not nearly as expensive. I'd prefer 27" for size but the prospect of getting this screen at around £200 seems too good to miss. The only real alternative is to get a 27" 1080p screen, and my gut tells me I'd seriously regret it.
I got the MVA version at launch for the kids, paid £190. Let's just say that although my own monitor is an Acer Predator XB271HU, and whilst I'd never again be without a high-refresh G-Sync panel for gaming sessions, I can occasionally be found hogging their PC for some big screen fun! It's incredible value for the money.
