Agreed. This may be the case for a console, that is it's function, but a phone? Smart phones are more than a gaming platform, they are a digital assistant, phone, camera, portal to your cloud data and social networks. Why would you ditch a device that integrates so well with your digital life just to play a game that will be available to you in a couple of months?

you're both talking as if sense and/or rational thought come in to play for 99% of smartphone purchasers.

You should know better. People will gladly pay a month's mortgage if they can play Angry Birds at 2560 x 1600 @ 100fps on a 4.5" screen.

S**t man, what am I going to do, I'm on WP8! My life is over. Oh wait I don't care....

I never know if the majority of people are senseless, or if when they do research to see if doing things like this would be worthwhile they end up always picking a whole bunch of stupid.

We might be the 1% who are still capable of rational tech purchasing decisions, but we have to accept that the majority of the rest of the population just don't care - they want shiny.

That includes the unwashed masses as well as the ruling classes sadly.

Happens in console so why not in phones or tablets I guess. They are not exactly paying for content just offering them high spot spaces long term which bring more money.

Smart phones are more than a gaming system for the older user for the younger user that is not the case

People will switch platforms for a mobile game? No way! I wouldn't swap my Nexus phone for an iPhone, and conversely I wouldn't swap my iPad for an Android tablet. It's not like a games console, there's far more to consider than just which games are available.
