just double checking this before i order one to use on my PC, they look sexy and the usb hub will be a huge help but will they deffo work with a PC? ive heard/read mixed theories on it, anyone use one on their pc?
So what they have a USB pass thru on the keyboard? If so..i may pick one up on sat from the apple store!
If you want something that will work for sure on a PC and has a built-in USB hub, try to find an IBM Rapid Access Keyboard, version III. http://www.bestofmicro.com/p/ibm/ibm/rapid-access-iii-usb-keyboard-with-hub/S2224983 and in white /w black keys: http://techshop.earthlink.net/images/I77415.jpg
They work fine, except if it breaks. Then you have to RMA it to the store you bought it from which is crap if that store doesnt exist anymore. /:grrr: @ OCS.
cheers people. sounds a bit crap RE: the RMA thing. so apple dont take any responsibilty for their gear then, its all on the actual shop?
Yep. I tried RMAing through apple UK and they washed their hands of it and by that time OCS had gone into liquidation but my warrenty was still 6 months good. £50 keyboard gone to ****, had to just chuck it out. Bought a £15 one and it was far better, dont know what the big deal was with the apple tbh.
yes indeed, have one of the original pro keyboards (this one) works a treat and has done for around 3 years Bindi, I've found that not breaking it is working out pretty well, you should have given that a go I'll have to start hunting for a new keyboard though, as now I've said that...
Yea, like I can stop the USB shorting out on a dodgy motherboard. Everything else managed to survive, bar that.
wow, these things get very dirty very quickly dont they. anyone know how to give them a good cleaning out?
does that mean popping each key off or just undoing the screws in the bottom? i see theres metal bits too :/
With the rapid access, can you take the rest at the bottom off it, or is it stuck on? [edit] Yeah, nm. You can. http://www-307.ibm.com/pc/support/site.wss/document.do?lndocid=MIGR-4V4QVC [/edit]
