it's amazing how apple have managed to turn around by using an MP3 player. Also above a million usnits in 17days is a rearly unrealistic estimate.

Its certainly a staggering number, but its getting rediculous that Wall-street is pressing their stock downwards; by all means, the Ipod Nano looks to be a much bigger success than it should be.

So that basicly means some of them are made differently from the others? BS. Ive had mine a week, back is scratched to hell, finally peeled off the protective sheet today, wiped it down to get the gunk off, and BAM! its scratched as bad as the back.

Roto.. why do you say that? It's very compact, sleek, and durable (well, not so much the casing, but try getting it's flash memory to skip or break). Despite the fact that it still won't play WMAs or FLAC (the latter being something I care about; I can't see why anyone would want to rip to MICROSOFT's proprietary format), 99% of users are looking for something in their price range that is functional and won't cause problems. Of course I had no success at all with iTunes, but that's mostly down to my refusal to use C:\DaS\Firehed\MyDocs\My Music\ to store my music files and not caring enough to add more scannable directories knowing there were easier to use alternatives available. However, it's easy enough for most people and centralizes both their owned and downloaded music, and you'd have to be Amish (and a dumb Amish at that) to not be able to figure out how to use the actual player.

Don't take that as fanboyism at all, I don't like apple much at all, but you have to look at it from a marketing perspective. They've looked into what people want and made a player that does just that. Why shouldn't it be successful as a result?

P2D - that's just marketing BS - it's an obvious and known problem that's being corrected. 'course my 20GB Gen4 is scratched to hell too, but nothing like what the first wad of nanos were taking, making the screen useless and all. But Apple is correcting the problem.
