The horror! News from the Inq on a strain of Excel-itus that [GASP!] affects OSX users!

USERS OF APPLE lured towards the darkside and are running Microsoft’s Excel might be regretting the day they strayed from Steve Job’s glorious Apple vision.

In a pronouncement from the Vole Hill of Redmond, Microsoft Spinsters have warned that a critical bug which effects all users of Excel will indeed contaminate that pure vessel which is the MacOX.

Mac users, who are proud of the fact that they are the owners of the most secure operating system never to be tested, should be extremely miffed that they have been caught by a Microsoft bug. After all, this usually happen to other people who are not creative enough to buy the only true operating system running what ever version Steve says they should.

The Excel vulnerability means that if a Excel 2000, Office 2001 for the Mac, Excel 2002, Office 2000, Office v. X for Mac user is logged on with administrative privileges, an attacker can take complete control of the reassuringly expensive and pretty machines.

More if you follow this exquisite example of L'inquage

I downloaded and installed this patch last night, without realising how close I had come to utter disaster! Phew! :D
