Some music group called The Postal Service is complaining about a striking resemblence between a music video of theirs from a few years ago and the Apple+Intel ad. What do you all think? From the group's site:
Crazy. Kick their asses Ben. They got into trouble with the US Postal Service and sorted all that out pretty well so I imagine they'll do the same again.
It's definitely not right that the filmmakers just used the same footage for the Apple ad, but at least TPS have been getting a bit of coverage recently which is always a good thing because let's face it, they rox.
Apple just added the video from "The Postal Service" to the iTunes music store on the opening page. Interesting.
...and there's the payback. Haha. And you've got people referring to it as an Iron & Wine cover. Hilarious. Someone should point them over to Subpop to download it for free. Or not.
seems that between apple, microsoft, and google some one claims theft of intelectual property every week.
poor The Postal Service. theyre just having issues left and right. (i think its funny though that now their CDs are sold by the US postal service.. its just really weird) in related news... COME ON RELEASE A NEW CD!
...what?? Did you just make that up on the spot? As far as I can remember, all that happened with them and the US Postal Service was that they'd offer their musical services to any kind of future advertising campaigns if so requested.
To be honest, I feel sadder that such a great song as "God Moving Over The Face Of The Waters" by Moby is being used for yet another advert. I hate it when good music is used for adverts, its sick and wrong
I hate that the clash is being used on stupid commercials/movies.. like that damn lord of war and the worlds fastest indian.
This is the sort of advertising money can't buy, I hadn't heard any music by The Postal Service before, now I have I'm quite interested is listening to more.
