Wow dude! This case came out superb! Seriously, this is the best looking apple case I have seen ever! I wont be surprized if Apple themselves start making their cases look like this. Great work man! Congratz!!
Stunning job..............i absolutely love shiny things and this is certainly SHINIER than a shiny thing! Its a lot of hard work but well worth it in the long run imo and well worth *****
to sum up this project in one word 'perfect'. now put some perfect hardware into it. like a black PCB motherboard and a 'rare' black PCB 8800GTS/GTX/Ultra. and certainly a black mesh PSU like a seasonic or hiper, even a corsiar but remove the stickers so there pure black beauty's
awsome work thats a really shiny case really much hand polishing work on that case can't wait to see the hardware in it
Cheers for the nice comments all. Yes, i know it needs more polishing... will get to it once i get the innards almost done. Burnout21: You wont actually be able to see the PSU through the window as i will be placing it above the motherboard, behind the DVD drive. I will be designing a duct for the PSU fan to vent out of the case somehow rather than having the hot exhaust air coming into the case. This will probably be visible slightly. As far as hardware is concerned i am trying to find sponsor's as we speak. It's a hard job when you're not really well known! Black PCBs would be amazing but will have to see what i can get my hands on/use what i have already. Mankz: The mobo tray is a Lian Li replacement part that i ordered from the States ages ago. The front panel I/O connectors is also a replacement part from a Lian Li V1000 series case. Both came from Performance Pcs. As far as the next update goes it will most likely be working on the DVD drive bezel and mechanism. I also need to sort out the dividing metal plate between the DVD/PSU area and the rest of the case. I had about an hour free today so decided to finish off the DVD bezel and give the case a bit more of a polish. First i took the nasty coating off the aluminium with some 80grit: Then sanded this up to 600, 800, 1200 and 2500. Finally buffed it with Mother's Alu polish again: Stuck it place with masking tape to see how it looks: Up close: And as the sun was out i took another pic of the case after some more polishing: I dont think i will get a perfect match between the mirror perspex and the door but i will do my best. Cyp.
Looking great Cyprio, but I'm afraid you'll need some machine polishing stuff to get that mirror shine (or you'll end up with tennis elbows ). Keep that modding up, it's getting better all the time. Darkened
That last pictures a stunner ! I actually like the difference between the two levels of shine, adds a texture - interest level to the eye !
