:) I sometimes fine it hard to believe that the first few pages of pics belong to the same project log. Even though i took them!

The weight is fine. The 2.5" hardly weigh anything at all and the way the perspex is bent means that it's quite rigid. Kinda like trying to squash a matchbox end on.

An unique custom-made drive bay beats everything. :dremel:

    Great job Cyp!
Those 2.5" drives look nice. I'd bet they'd look nicer without those stickers. ;)

Very nicely done and a good addition to the case. The 2.5 drive idea is really sweet!

WOOT - 750 posts for me!

Ah, blame it on me then :)

Looking good though, and those Seagate Momentus 2.5's are nice drives indeed! I use them on my carputers, and they work very well - they won't do an injustice to this mod at all.....

    Nice one, Cyp, real nice....

Modding, really good modding like yours takes time, my mod took me almost 8 months, but in the end when everything is just the way you pictured it. to me that has to be the greatest feeling in the world. I enjoyed every word & picture, 26 pages later. WOW nice work on everything so far, Very slick looking build. can't wait to see the final masterpiece.

Hard drive cage and cable management

Once again i meant to get more done this weekend and once again things cropped up that ate into my modding time. :)

However, the HDD caddy is complete and i'm really pleased with the final result. I also spent a lot of time tidying up the cables and hooking up the USBPoweradjusts.

Almost there, i keep telling myself, almost there... :D

To complete the caddy i wanted to add some aluminium to contrast with the black perspex to fit in with the rest of the internals

Here is an 11x3cm rough cut of aluminium.

After some sanding and polish, shiny enough for the purpose.

    Drilled some bolt holes.

Measured up one bolt and shortened it.

    Seven more...

Put all that together, along with some rubber grommets. Et Viola!

    From another angle.

    'Product shot' :)

    And in the case.

After an hour of cable tidying... yes, ONE HOUR!
That's the HDD power cables, the front panel audio, front panel USB, Power switch and the PoweradjustUSB USB headers.

    A more distant shot.

The PoweradjustUSB have loads of cables
    - one for the power of the board itself, one for the pump's power, one for the pumps tachometer (measures the rotations) and the USB cable to the motherboard!

This meant careful cable management with some double sided tape!

As you can see above, I finally decided i needed to cut the rad cover in two... pause for a minute of silence in honour of the once 'complete' rad cover.

    :waah:

This was mainly so i could have one part on the rad as a stand alone piece (see above) that i could hook up to the PA rad and just take the whole thing out to bleed when i fill the loop. I might need to make another smaller cover for the 120.1 rad and the exhaust rad. One learns from one's mistakes... plan ahead properly! You can tell i never took design classes at school can't you?!

    Till next time.

    Cyp.

Many thanks for the ongoing support all.

(Neverending) List of things still to do. This is as much for you as it is for me to gauge when i might have the time to fit some modding in!

    1. Mod other half of the perspex cover for 120.1 rad or create a new one if needed.
    2. Decide what cover to use for floor of case. Needs to be 'watercooling loop friendly'.
    3. Mount the Aquaero in the window perspex and mount the window perspex in the door.
    4. Hook up the lights to molexes.
    5. Fill and bleed the system... and pray for no leaks.

    Cyp.

Are you sure you do not need PCI slots covered by HDD rack?
    BTW nice idea ;)
