Isn't 16GB of HBM2 twice that of any commercial available Vega, or am i mixing up my RX's and PRO's.

They claim 500W total heat dissipation - They should name it iTrottle.

The Vega Frontier Edition has 16GB HBM2, as does the Radeon Pro WX9100.

Agreed, cooling that hardware in that form factor just isn't possible without some massive compromises.

Dell and Phillips both have 5K monitors available.

Like the mac pro, i'm not convinced the iMac Pro won't cook itself... maybe not immediately but certainly after a few months of dust buildup.

Dell made a 5k @ 27" display, as did HP, LG and a few others... but given as far as i can see none are availaible to buy anywhere, they only made 1 of each...

Apple likely have what little supply of such panels there is to themselves.

My bad, I forgot the LG one.
A handful each sounds about right for Dell and Phillips, I don't think ones from HP and others ever even made it past an empty announcement.

Not like any of it matters, scaling issues of windows with hyper niche resolutions beyond 4K would not be a fun experience, so you'd only ever do it on a Mac anyway for a couple more years.

Isn't that the one that had to be pulled from sale for a bit because it didn't work? [IIRC it threw a hissy fit if placed too near a wifi router/access point]

The PC route does give you more flexibility re: hardware... and the knowledge that it won't cook itself under load [if the person building it has half a clue].

The only thing you'd have to sacrifice on PC is Thunderbolt [...probably] and the end result won;t be quite as compact.

    What's a "double-wide graphics card"?
