Your retailer is full of crap and, like others have said, is probably giving you that line just to sell you one of his crappy cases or get you to buy more case than you want/need. :eyebrow:
I've owned quite a few cases. A few years ago I just happened to pick up a new Chieftec case for a good price...free. I was VERY impressed with the construction...rounded interior edges (From all PC Builders/Modders, thank you Chieftec!), easily removable drive cages with built-in 80mm fans, lots of room inside. I'm always in the market for cases and have YET to see one that beats the solid construction of a Chieftec. Seen a lot of them with all kinds of bells and whistles, but they still don't come close.

I really like Chieftec cases, too. Out of all of the cases I have used, none have been as easy to work with, and none were as solidly built as the Chieftec cases.

I've the Antec 1030B, which apart from the psu is a Chieftec Dragon and widely recognised as one of the best steel cases. Very good cooling potential and solid as a rock.

Some of the early fancy-coloured Chieftecs had a poor quality paint job, I think that must have improved as I've not heard any recent grumbles.

Only downside that I have noticed about Chiteftec cases is that they are just too common. but hey, little modding will fix it :thumb: Im happy owner of Chieftec Dragon miditower (come to think about it, why the ... didnt i get supertower when i had the chance? :duh:

Chieftec =   :naughty:

If you decide on the full tower then avoid PSUs with belly fans. Tthe case has a support bar that crosses the case right between the PSU and the CPU. It gets in the way.

I've got a Coolermaster ATCS-701, basically a Chiefy steel chassis with coolermaster aluminium panels :) I'm _really_ happy with the construction of the chassis, very well built and easily accessible.

Very happy with my black dragon. Solidly built and great cooling potential. Loads of modability too. The only downside is that I need a forklift truck to lift it now with all me watercooling kit in it!

I have an Antec PlusView 1000AMG (built by cheiftec) and i love it! It has ALOT of space for HDDs (big + for me) and is a beeeze to remove/add drives. The thing is as solid as a rock (if not MORE solid then a rock!) and looks great!. the dust filter is great and keeps my comp not looking like a vacuum cleaner lol :thumb:

The window is great and i like how it goes around the handel instead of square like the chieftec ones. i also like how the fan intake on the side isn't in the way of the "interesting bits" of my comp (cpu cooler + ram etc) unlike the chieftec versions of this case.

An excellent case and i'm sure you wouldn't be dissapointed if you bought one!

im going to replace the plastic rivets around the window with chrome ones soon, i think it will look better!

:worried: Ummm, the same thing happened to me  , I though it was vote yes if you like Chieftec's, just too ashamed to have posted my mistake...glad I'm not the only one. I love chieftecs, there good for all experience modders, if your starting out, then a chieftec would be great for you, but in the same sense if your very experienced these cases are wonderful as well. :thumb:

Well ,may I say one thing?
The Chieftec midis has one big conclusion:
It is big and its heavy and it isnt that much room in them.
Not for that size. Not a favorite to go on LAN´s with.

Anyway , it is one of the best steel chassis ever made.
    I voted NO.

EDIT: what country are you living in?

Not sure exactly what you mean. This is an Antec:

    [IMG] [IMG]

I just cut part of the PSU mount to accommodate the fan of my Antec True Power 550W. The support bar is not in the way at all. Is this what you were referring to?

I've got a chieftec full tower and I think they're great cases at a very affordable price. If I had $200 to spare, I would look at a Lian-Li full tower or a Cool Master perhaps, but I got my full tower dragon for only $60. Although, mine is steel not aluminum (I don't think they make full tower aluminum cases, only midtower aluminum), but thats okay because I don't need it to be portable, so it doesn't have to be a super light case.

for any of my serious computers that i actually don't have sitting in a closet or in my basement, i've sworn to a chieftec/chenming/antec dragon chasis

they're a dream to work in and have plenty for cooling, all in all good well built solid cases... the aluminum ones are nice...

but if you want to take into consideration weight.. consider my three antec/chieftec mid-towers full of hardware weigh in around 150bs all together.... something like 20lbs empty at least...

I thought about it, but I liked the extra strength that it gave. It also kept the heat from all the opticals in their own compartment. The PSU sucks it out from there, but I would like to put in a blow hole. I need to pop the rivets to get the top panel free.... uh oh I think I have something to do.

You should whack your retailers head in :p ( or atleast mod his skull with a dremel :dremel:)

Chieftecs are the most sturdyest cases ive ever seen, and i own one :)
