A/V Are magnetic shields important?

    I was just curious as to how important magnetic shields are for speakers.
    Certainly normal CRTs will be affected if no shielding is present, but what about other equipment? I've heard that LCDs are not affected, but was wondering in particular about the computer.

    just dont have your speakers next to a crt and you will be fine. aslong as they are 30cm or so away from the sides you should be fine.
    small speakers probably wont even effect it.

    not sure on lcd's but no harm in keep them apart. the further your speakers are apart the better the soundstage.
