I came across this website recently http://www.itbutikken.co.uk/ and the prices appear to be amazing e.g.
    xp 1800+ 82.63
    kt3 ultra aru 98.25
    Asus geforce 4 ti 4400 (asus code 8440)dvi 186.28

I want to know if you think this site is real and wether these prices are true and if so how come they are so cheap.

Looks kosher, if you're paying by VISA you are covered against fraud usually for free. Although if it's coming from abroad you might end up paying import duty on it when it arrives at your door.

I think I am right in saying there is no import taxes within the EU.

    Am I right?

From reading the Customs & Excise site, there's no import duty on computer hardware but there's still the dreaded VAT to pay.

And I've heard the PO make a charge for collecting it. :cries:

However this on their home page didn't fill me with confidence:

I've ordered stuff from Komplett.co.uk who ship the goods direct their warehouse some where in Norway i think, and I've never had to pay tax on the door step. Maybe coz I paid my money to a UK branch.

If u pay by Credit card u are covered by them. You are covered by a "distance selling" policy. If this company turns swore on u and not del the goods, ya C/C company will recover the money for u.

"These prices are only valid in Denmark"

Huh?? wtf does that all mean ? And yet they ship to the UK, as they quote Royal Mail freight prices. Oh and is that UK VAT or Denmark VAT?

Must find out....coz they are damned cheap!!!!!!

[EDIT] :eeek: they slap a £11.93 fee for credit card payments!

They actually charge 5.75% for using a credit card.

P.S. is there any way to find out if the price you pay on these goods is final or if there will be other charges what it arrives?

    :)

Just a thought if you select the UK section presumably it would charge UK vat.

I sent an e-mail to the people at itbutikken about this and this is what they said:

Tak for henvendelsen / Thank you for the mail.

When you place an order and fill out the ordre in the end you will be given
an exact price an date of delivery.
This price and date is typically the final.

Do you think that means that I would not have to pay extra money in the UK or just that they will not charge me any more?

Here is the E-mail I sent them:

I am thinking about purchasing some products from you but I am in England (UK). I would like to know if I will have to pay extra taxes when it arrives in the uk or if the price quoted on your site when I place the order will be final.

Thank You very much for your time

    :worried:
