Well, if you are it seems they've officially gone to the £35 pricing model for 4Mb. So what you ask? Well even though you'll be upgraded to 10Mb soon you can benefit from a free upgrade to 4mb in the meantime. Just pop through the selfcare pages and upgrade to Blueyonder Elite, it'll confirm it's the same price as your existing 2mb; £35! Might be a 'duh' moment but, well no-one told me
I'm enjoying the massive speed increase from my previous 2mb connection to the current 10mb one I have now. Was a very pleasant surprise last night to discover my new download speeds.
Coincidence, I was thinking about this the other day when I read about the new pricing model. 4MB, here we come
I'm in London, but still only 4 meg. I started with a 512 plan like 1 year ago They kept doubling my speed. Apparently NTL have bought Telewest, and this is why were getting 10MB.
Update: It seems even though it says £35 on the site apparently they will still put you on the £50 a month tarrif instead!!!! As mine had not gone ahead I rang them to see what was up. The guy on the phone seemed a little unsure and even when I pointed out that it was £35 on the site he said "Uh, you're right.. yes it is." So if you've already done this, you might want to give them a call and double check what you're being billed.
If they're advertising £35, shouldn't they have to give you £35? Fair advertising and all that? You could always pull a classic American move and threaten a lawsuit
you just need to phone up cutomer services and tell them that youve been overcharged. I was on the 2 meg service and now i have the wonders of 10meg DOWN and 384k UP although i would love to see them increase the upload speeds as it takes 24KBytes per second to use the full 10meg which dosent leave much more for VoIP and gaming.
Well as it stands, I'm not on 4mb yet so we'll wait and see.. hopefully the issues are due to it being a precursor to 10mb coming soon. That said I'd be interested to know if anyone currently on 4mb has been put on the £35 tariff.
I have 4Mb at the moment, and they upgraded it pretty fast (10Mb soon, I notice that Bristol has been moved up the list ). I wonder if it's a problem just for you or in general... I'll try to find out what I'm being charged.
