Okay, to start, it's a store bought Compaq, and I can give the detailed specs if you want. All I've done to it is take out the modem and installed a second NIC, and installed Red Hat 9 on it. It was working just peachy. I left for a couple of days, and when I came back, screen is blank. Mouse movement and keyboard presses do nothing. The monitor isn't dead, I checked it on a different comp, and the vid card is okay, I guess, since it powers the monitor (aka, there's not a "No Signal" error on the monitor). But still, nothing. The comp turns on, and no picture.....Any ideas?

This is a hardware fault by the sounds of it and nothing to do with Linux. I would take all the stuff out of the case except for the the memory, cpu and graphics card. But I would reseat this to make sure they are in properly and then turn the machine on to see if that works.

Yeah I agree, Linux would not just stop working like that, it would not change anything itself :D.
