A certain store (with shoddy service i might add) has a 939 x2 3800 for £100 or i can get an opty 165 for about £110. I just would like to squeeze a little more life out of my current rig. So which one guys?
I can't see it making a huge graphics improvement, because you're limiting it with 6800GT. Task wise you will see a general improvement from either, it's just whether you want to pay the extra £10 and get a chance of better overclocking.
I would have to say the Opty, Asus boards can usually get good overclocks, and the Opty is insane at them.
