Chenming full tower Directron Hydraulic Door full tower the problem with those 2 cases is that theres no front audio or usb ports, not too much of a big deal but id like some front ports so its less of a hassle or this Lian Li PC 6077 which one? (dont really have the money for the lian li but if i save up a bit more i will)
if you're planning on modding the snot outta this thing, i would vote either of the first two, probably the first if you want to do some freaky door mods, i expect that the hydrolic mechanism will only get in the way (and is it honestly hydrolic? im hoping not, or thats a waste... . it shall now be refered to as pneumatic. disreguard, its 1:45 in the morning and my body is still on DST time, so i feel like its 2:45) the lian-li is a beautiful case, as are most of their products, and probably a wonderfully designed and constructed one. but, the other two have extreme space for modding, and you wouldnt be losing so much money once teh starts going. so i guess what im trying to say is if you have some serious mod ideas planned, get one of the first two. if you want a case thats beautiful just the way it is, get the Lian-Li.
As said - For great quality and untampered looks, go for the LL. For modding potencial, Go for chenming. That "hydralic" door will cause problems when modding front. Btw - I always wanted the chieftec dragon fulltower, and now i got it. Great for mods with lots of space.. but if you do LAN parties, have you taken into consideration the weight? My case w/psu weighs 18 kilos (somwhat 35-37 pounds i think). The Lian Li is alu. Light.
I still dont understand why people would blow $100+ on a case. Fortunately, this case is nearly identical and doesnt cost an two arms and two legs.
ive got one of those "hydraulic" cases (in black) in my closet. it really isnt that bad. i was planning on doing some neat modding tricks to it and get the door to be motorized so it would raise itself. i hear when it is down, it restricts airflow. the thing isnt hard to take apart, and there could be some pretty cool mods done to it. if you got any questions about it, lemme know. ill do my best to answer them.
I love my Directron Hydraulic Door full tower Especially the front door so sexy. Look how huge the side is!!!! also notice the 2 fans on the bottom and if you can see the black mesh, thats where the other fan went, but i took it out. Edit: cant see the mesh but it is in the bottom right corner
If you are patient enough, i can sell you my nearly finished side panel of a Lian Li PC60 serie. That's ofcourse, IF you're gonna buy a Lian Li PC60 series case. But frankly, you don't need to take this in consideration because it'll take weeks or even months for me to finish it since school is bugging me.
My current project is with the hydraulic case from directron and overall I am very pleased with it for the price, very mod-able
the prob with the lian li imitation is that it only has room for 1 80mm fan and has 4 5.25 bays, i want more lol. but ya its nice and cheap and looks exactly like the pc60 (except 1 less 3.5 external bay) but ya id rather spend less and get the 77 then the pc60 haha hmm the the hydraulic door comes off, easily and ive solved the problem for front ports, i can just make a few holes and use my pci bracket thing that came with my mobo
ehh im taking the lian li off i think. Too much money and not enough mods available for it. Sure its nice and would be easy to cut those fan grills, but its too small and when i get water cooling, ill either need a new case or have to cram it in that or my raidmax, so ya either the directron or the chenming
none of them! I find the lian-li's, although very nice, way too expensive. imo track down a full tower or super midi Aluminium chieftec/chenming/antec(only steel) dragon type case. (or a steel one if you don't mind the weight, you'll save some money). They have usb and firewire in the front, but you can always take out the firewire and some headphone jacks in . http://www.chenming.com/cases.htm http://www.chieftec.com/products/products.htm http://www.antec.com/us/pro_en_perfPlusAmg.html
ehh i dont want the cheiftec dragons and antec cases like that. anyone know where i can get some cheap hole saw bits/blades online for a 80, and a 120mm fan?
ebay has em cheap, but believe me you get what you pay for. dremel and file or spend the money for some decent hole saws
I just love full towers, the directron one has tons of modding potential, it's like a blank canvas This one i like , room for 2 PSU mobo tray that comes out a bit more expensive though http://www.directron.com/q2000.html
lol just "a bit" more lol, for that money id just save up a few more bucks and buy a lian li pc 75 Id like 2 psu slots, but i can always make one, theres room at the top. It would be nice so i have a seperate psu for drives, and the mobo and other important stuff and then the other psu is for fans and cold cathodes and extras ill probly go with the directron case, can someone recomend me cheap hole saw blades? i need one for 80 and one for 120 (would they be 3 inch and 4 inches?) on ebay theres a kit with both of those (and smaller ones) for 9 bucks buy it now, but ya i dunno if i should get that or not
