i plan to just waiting for Steam sale for it. although people rage on about being a vigilante (especially on Aria forum) i think being a bandit or a group of bandits a more interesting way to play it.
Interesting, do they lock you into a period contract, or..? EDIT: Went and looked myself - seems not, although the period affects the price! Is there any gain to be had though other than an Admin tag behind your name, and the ability to restart at will? Everything is so restricted... Who's to say that even after you(we?) fork out £60pcm, that we can even get a space on the server, as It will be filled with randoms?
Hope you'll be online tonight. We have unfinished business, you and I. Also, I don't see any point in having our own server. We can get onto pretty much any server we want, so why pay for one?
There are quite a lot of restrictions for running DayZ and there is no guarantee that you will be able to play on it (currently they do not allow you to kick for any other reasons than confirmed cheating, racist language and exceptionally high ping). At the moment you will be doing it just to help the Alpha. There is no reason why you couldn't use a server for normal Arma stuff though. There is no real advantage in having your own server for DayZ specifically.
You guys looking for an extra gun? I have been exploring by myself so far but wouldn't mind teaming up with a few people to make the travelling more interesting
They just want to have some vague justification for killing other players. Eschew social norms, forget about playing "Survivor", "Vigilante", "Bandit" or any other silly term and survive! Though it should added that the one saying this would be called a "Bandit" by most!
I've been waiting for ARMA 2:CO to go below $20, and I'll be getting this! Even if it doesn't get a better discount, I'm still getting it! Any tips before I get in game? I have been playing Arma 2 Free a bit, I'm used to most of the controls and the interface; so I think I'll be okay other than the new Day Z stuff. Can't wait!
Everytime i start a new game i seem to be dying on the floor from blood loss, when i get up i collapse and die again??? Doing my head in
I need to do some fiddling to get DayZ working again for me I miss the adventuring! I reckon you could be doing with some thermal scope goodness on your overwatch. I'm a crap shot but at least I can point out stuff to our decent shots ;D
Was going around with a group of friends (4 of us in total) in the middle of nowhere (in the wilds south east of the airport) and randomly 2 guys came up in a UAZ and started firing at us. Thanks to a brutally awesome sniper shot from my friend, they both died, and only took 2 of us with them, mainly as I had a hatchet out at the time (sneaking up and killing zombies is so fun) and couldn't switch to a ranged weapon quick enough. Holy hell did they have a stash in that car, about 10 or so guns, all with ammo and a load of other supplies, so we've now set up a nice new base camp out in the woods (tents and the UAZ)
Could I have a nice sniper rifle? I want to hunt people in Cherno from the hills but my Remmington is ill suited for it...
My mate found an M107 last night at a heli crash. I logged in and he fired it right next to my face. Almost burst my headphones/ear drums as I have my volume really high for DayZ LOL. 1.2km effective range is just lol
