Anyone seen this today? Are you guys playing with one of these as we speak? http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/technology-15668347
It looks good, but shouldn't someone be working on a more advanced/more efficient battery chemistry to supply power to these "supercharged smartphones" for longer? I've always said that the battery on my iPhone wasn't bad, depending on what I am doing on a particular day. At this point it's still not discharging any faster than it should or than it ever has, but I am not even getting 5 hours online work, calls and texts out of a full charge at the moment. With a faster chip in it, it'd be even worse.
Agreed. My Galaxy S doesn't make it through the day - Missing a charge means no phone... Whatever happened to those methane batteries they were promising; those sounded good! Well, the article alluded to an all-ARM SoC, so 'clusters' of these GPUs working together wouldn't be out of the question... I'm with you doubt-wise though - it sounds far too weedy for my expectations! But then again, there are some seriously well-paid boffins who could make it work, I'm sure! TSB
