Articles (Reviews) > Rating > Image?!

I've seen a couple of articles (reviews) with ratings at the end (e.g. http://www.bit-tech.net/bits/2007/01/30/Windows_Vista_review/7.html) and was disappointed to see that they're images, and worse, have no 'alt' text.

bit-tech, you can do better.

 

May I ask, what is so bad about that considering that the image tells you everything anyway?

 

Absolutely. That's why our next/new CMS does graphs and scores using nothing but CSS and XHTML

 

As Rich says, it's merely a short term fix for a long term development plan.

 

The 'About us' page hadn't been updated in a while, but Jamie left his old job and has been working alongside me at bit-tech as a fulltime developer for the past 6 months or so

The screen-grabbed graphs that you see in this article were produced by bit's new CMS in XHTML/CSS (the current engine/CMS doesn't support them and so hence the screen cap for now)

 

Those graphs are a lot clearer now, but the text looks a little grey, not sure if that's because of JPG compression though.

Also the Bit Logo looks washed out.

Aswell as a barstard.

 

The text is #333333 rather than #000000 which is why it looks washed out.

 

Just like we promised, we're image free now
