Hello, i'm getting really bad artifacts in directx games but not in opengl games.
In doom 3 i havn't seen a single artifact yet, but in farcry and any other games that use direct3d im getting them. some other games i get artfacts in are nhl 2004 and tigerwoods 2004, ut2004 so its not just farcry

Heres a couple Screenshots of farcry

ive tryed the 4.6 -4.9bata catalyst drivers and i have the newest chipset drivers and all my windowsxp updates. ive tryed out dx9.0c. I can get most of the artifacts to go away by underclocking my video ram but it seems kind of weird that with my vram at stock settings i can play d3 artifact free.

Also tryed playing around with aa and af at different values and vsync is set to always on. nothing helps!

does any buddy know any other things i can try? :wallbash:

    Thanks, Bender :thumb:

gpu overclocked? sounds like its overheating on a certain part of the card that is specific to dx stuff.

Has the fan on the gfx card died or is there dust in it?

Im guessing that some transistors arent used in OGL that use used in DX and visa versa - so mebbe youve got a buggered transistor or something when a DX specific instruction executes?
