Motherboards asrock

    hi all im thinking of purchasing a 4coredual-sata r2.0. can anyone tell me if this is any good im very limited on budget atm so i thought this was a way of using my old pentium4 rig and just replacing the processor and MB whilst slightly improving my speed as long as i can still play the games i want to i hope ill be ok.thx for all comments

    Asrock even though the name sounds like ass rock is quite a fine brand. I have one of their Core 2 Duo mobos in my HTPC and I've been very happy with how it has performed.

    ASRock are indeed great at what they do. most people dismiss them out of hand due to the price and assume they are "cheap and nasty" while their boards are not the best at overclocking some are not too bad just don't expect to get monster overclocks. where they really come into there own is budget upgrading which is what your after.

    I've got an old 939 board in my garage computer. LOL
    It has never offered me any trouble. I have it OC'ing a 1.8GHz something or other to 2.4GHz on the stock HS and Fan.

    I would recommend.

    ASRock is budget ASUS using slightly older chipsets. Well worth buying for budget systems!

    Gone are the days of crappy PC Chips boards lol
