Can anyone pinpoint this problem? Assassin's Creed plays fine in DX9 in Vista (selected from program folder), however, when I run it in DX10, it does it in a half cocked window and lags like mad. Any ideas why? Is there a fix for it?

Need help on this. Can't seem to get Crysis to run DX10 either, just get a black screen. Also, the programs do not show up in the start menu. WTF, gives with this OS? I only paid for it to run DX10 games and it seems incapable of doing so.

Mods, move this to gaming if this is not in the correct section of the forums (gaming?).

Give us a clue mate? What've you tried?

What do the respective support boards say for each game? Any help there? Any luck googling for the problem?

p.s. Impatiently bumping a thread after 2 hours isn't really the way on here, these boards can be a little slow during the day, especially for threads that offer no clues as to what effort you've put in.

First, two hours is a long time when you are trying to get a piece of software to run.
    Second, I have tried:
Installed SP1 and all updates for Vista
    Installed game patches
    Tried running as Administrator

The programs (games) do not show in the start menu. There are no folders (Ubisoft, etc). I have to hunt the games down in the applications folder by clicking my computer, etc.

I am running the 177.41 whql drivers off of nVidia's web site.
